Authentication

The research API uses API keys. Create one in the app, then send Authorization: Bearer clab_… on every request.

Create a key

Sign in to the web app and open API keys. Create a key and copy the secret once — it is not shown again.

Use the key

Security notes

• Treat API keys like passwords. Do not put them in URLs or public repos.
• Revoke a key immediately from the app if it leaks.
• Website login is separate from the research API and is not part of this docs surface.
• Missing or invalid keys return 401 with {"detail":"not authenticated"} or {"detail":"invalid api key"}.
